The Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is where trained rehabilitators provide specialized care for injured, orphaned, displaced, and/or distressed urban wildlife in order to release them back into their native habitat. Some of the wildlife cared for are birds, squirrels, foxes, and reptiles.
Please note that we can only accept wildlife found within Fremont, Newark, or Union City and that an appointment must be made in advance. To determine if the wildlife needs care, please reference our guides on baby birds and/or mammals.
If you have found a wild animal who is injured or orphaned during non-operating hours, we recommend that the public contact their city’s Animal Services Department or one of the following:
